i have ran a nano reef for about 6 months now , and decided to venture into the world of BIG tanks , but i figured that i would document it ,

i figured that it would help others just starting but also help me with advice and tips so here goes ,

day 1

bulid cabnet etc

day2 plumb in filter , (pics to follow)

day3 rinse coral sand and add to tank

day 4 , water added

day 6 add a little live rock

day 7 first water test ,

the results are

amonia 0 ppm

nitrites 0 ppm

nitrates 0 ppm

and ph is 7.8

that is all i have done so far

please feel free to comment and offer any advice

also if you would like to ask any questions , go for it (i may not know the answers but i will try)

i will also post pics as soon as i work out how to !

john

Hi john

sounds ok but keep an eye out for the ammonia levels. live rock can hold lots of things on them that can die out of the blue and rot and cause an a ammonia spike .

Hi J.h78

There is a step by step guide in the Technical section. You need to Upload your image from your computer then cick on host it, using the icon above next to the <> icon. then copy the link, click on the piture icon and paste the link into the box. If that made no sence and you still having problems let me know

John, just so you know where you went wrong with adding the pic...

anything inside the [img] [/img] tag is what it will use as the address of the image. on yours you have got what looks like a preview address for the image and so i think it has confused the forum. what you would have been looking to add inside the [img] [/img] tags is https://i.servimg.com/u/f64/13/54/74/29/04022013.jpg

if anyone needs any help with either the forum/website or computers in general give me a shout as have worked with computers and websites for a few years now so might be able to help.

sorry for going off topic a bit and btw nice looking tank Smile
